Intro

The English Premier League (EPL) pre-season is underway. Burnley are the earliest to get going whilst Chelsea will be the latest to do their work due to their FIFA Club World Cup exploits. There’s no doubt that pre-season matters a lot to managers and clubs. It’s vital preparation ahead of a gruelling season to come. It’s a time for fitness, opportunities for youth, team bonding, squad building and tactical trials among other things. Match outcomes are largely meaningless, but can influence the narrative, tone and group morale heading into the new campaign. So far over 90 pre-season matches are scheduled for EPL clubs.

This post summarizes pre-season schedules for each EPL team ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign that begins on August 15th 2025. Updates will be provided periodically.

Arsenal

Arsenal began their pre-season preparations on July 9th, followed by a training camp in Spain. They will tour Singapore and Hong Kong. A total of 6 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa began their pre-season preparations on July 7th. They will tour the USA, whilst also travelling to Germany, France and Spain ahead of their season opener. A total of 8 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Bournemouth began their pre-season preparations on July 5th. They will tour the USA. A total of 7 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Brentford began their pre-season preparations on July 7th, followed by a training camp in Portugal. A total of 4 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Chelsea’s pre-season preparations are delayed due to their participation in the Club World Cup which ended on July 13th. Their pre-season will begin on August 4th. A total of 2 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Crystal Palace began their pre-season preparations on July 9th followed by a training camp in Austria. A total of 5 pre-season games are currently scheduled. They will take part in the Community Shield on August 10th.

Everton began their pre-season preparations on July 4th followed by a training camp in Scotland. They will tour the USA. A total of 7 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Fulham began their pre-season preparations on July 13th followed by a training camp in Portugal. A total of 7 pre-season games are currently scheduled.

Leeds began their pre-season preparations on July 7th followed by a training camp in Germany. A total of 5 pre-season games are currently scheduled with stops in Sweden, Germany and Ireland included.

Liverpool began their pre-season preparations on July 8th. They will tour Hong Kong and Japan. A total of 6 pre-season games are currently scheduled. They will take part in the Community Shield on August 10th.

Manchester City’s pre-season preparations are delayed due to their participation in the Club World Cup which ended on June 30th. Their pre-season will begin on July 28th. A total of 2 pre-season games are currently scheduled.
